Introduction:

Hello and welcome , today we are going to discuss about most important part or theory of Cosmology. As we all know before 13 billion years (approximately) from now Big Bang happened and the universe started expanding from a point. But have ever thought why this universe is expanding ? What causes this universe to expand? Is there any theory to explain this ? Well , today we are going to discuss about one such theories called Cosmic inflation theory. With the help of which we will understand how this universe is expanding.

Well, before moving forward lets talk about Inflation or Cosmic inflation. What is Cosmic inflation?
So , In the field of physical Cosmology , Cosmic inflation or cosmological inflation is a theory of expansion of space in early universe(soon after the Big Bang).

Development of Cosmic inflation theory :

With the help and contribution of several theoretical Physicists the development of Cosmic inflation theory took place in the year between the late 1970s and early 1980s. With the help of this theory we can explain the structure of the Cosmos. Before this theory there were many general questions like Why the universe appears to be the same in all direction ? Why the universe is flat ? And many more. But With the help of this theory we are able to answer all these questions. And finally it was developed further in the early 1980s .

What Caused Cosmic inflation ?

In the year around 1930, It was Edwin Hubble who discovered that galaxies are moving away from each other. This clearly shows that the universe is expanding and carrying the galaxies with it. Later it called as Cosmic inflation theory, which states the expansion of this universe.

In the early seconds of Big Bang the inflation rate was slow. But after 9 billion years later the acceleration of this expansion started due to dark energy.

But the question is What caused this Cosmic inflation? Is there any field responsible for this ? If the fields are responsible for this then , why no fields has yet been discovered which is responsible for inflation. However no real fields were found to be responsible.

Now the question is , If there is no field responsible for this , then why this theory is widely accepted? So , this theory is widely accepted because many prediction of this theory found to be true.

Though Cosmic inflation does not have known real field , But It has a hypothetical field which is thought to be responsible for inflation, which we called the ‘Inflaton’.

Still many theoretical Physicists are trying to find the cause behind this inflation. And there is another problem that , If this field did not exist, then scientists would have to propose a different theory for the expansion of the universe.

Cosmic Inflation Strength :

As we all know this Cosmic inflation theory is not perfect. But Inflation theory resolves many problems related to Big Bang and the expansion of universe. As we have studied in the Introduction that Cosmic inflation theory explains , Why the universe appears to be the same in all direction , It also explains why the cosmic microwave background radiation is distributed evenly, why the universe is flat , and also it explains why no magnetic monopoles have been observe. And also inflation theory attempts to resolve many problem related to Big Bang by providing a dynamical mechanism.

So far we have learnt many things like , What is Cosmic inflation ? And how it was developed in the year of late 1970s and early 1980s. And we have also seen how this theory came in existence after the Edwin Hubble proposal of expanding universe. We also saw how cosmic inflation theory explains and answer the problem arrised during the expansion of the universe and supported the Big Bang theory.

So , after understanding the Concepts and problem of cosmic inflation theory , we have concluded that there is no such theory which explains all the queries with full efficiency , So here we need a proof for the field Which is responsible for this Cosmic inflation.
